Blogs are an incredibly powerful tool and can serve many purposes. Here are just a few worth considering:
- Replace your primary web site. A blog is a web site, so you really don’t need two. A blog is easier to manage and ranks better in search engines than traditional web sites.
- Be found in the search engines. From a simplified perspective, search engines love fresh content. By writing on your blog regularly, you are providing the search engines what they want most.
- Setup a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). How often have you answered the same questions over and over again? Do it one last time and send out a link for any future requests.
- Establish yourself as a niche expert. If you specialize in investment properties or FHA loans, let the world know and provide the tools and resources needed to help your customers.
- Become a neighborhood expert. Real estate is local, so focus on your community to attract specific eyes.
- Keep your former customers updated. Teach everyone how to subscribe to your site and you can keep them up to date without the expense of direct mail.
- Show that you’re modern! The average age of home buyers continues to decline and younger people are more in touch with technology. By having a blog, you are proving you understand the technology they use.
- Establish an online reputation. If your web site(s) don’t show up for ALL of the top 10 when you do a search for your name, you are FAILING at online reputation management. Blogging can help get you established with excellent information.
- Highlight properties. Share multiple, large photos or video and engage your customers in conversation online about the site.
- Have fun! Make your personality stand out by speaking in a natural voice. It will attract more people because they can get to know the real you!
